4502/100 CALLINGTON TOP OF DESCENT INSECTICIDE - BLUE 100G

The **Callington Top of Descent Aircraft Insecticide (P/N: 4502/100)** is a **non-flammable, aircraft-approved aerosol insecticide** designed for use **inside aircraft cabins after passenger embarkation and before departure, or upon arrival** at the destination airport. It is also approved for **disinsection of Unit Load Devices (ULDs) and Aircans** from the cargo hold. This insecticide is formulated with **2% w/w d-phenothrin**, the **World Health Organization (WHO)** recommended active ingredient for aircraft disinsection. It effectively eliminates **mosquitoes, flies, and other pests** that can transmit diseases such as **Dengue Fever, Yellow Fever, Malaria, Chikungunya, and Zika**, helping to reduce **biosecurity and health risks** across international flights. **Applications:** - **Pre-departure spraying:** After passenger boarding and before aircraft pushback. - **On-arrival spraying:** When pre-departure disinsection has not been completed or as required for additional treatment. - **Cargo disinsection:** For ULDs and Aircans in compliance with quarantine standards. --- ## Treatment Procedure ### **Pre-departure Disinsection** 1. Ensure all service doors are closed, and passengers are seated. 2. Open all overhead and sidewall lockers. 3. Turn off aircraft air-conditioning or set to normal flow (not high); keep recirculation fans on. 4. Hold the can at arm’s length and spray from the rear of the cabin forward, one row per second. 5. Direct spray away from passengers and toward ceilings and open lockers. 6. Repeat on both sides of the aisle, including galleys, lavatories (2 seconds each), coat lockers, crew rest areas, and the flight deck (3 seconds, directed away from controls). 7. Avoid spraying directly on exposed food or preparation areas. 8. Spray rate: **1 g/sec**, coverage **35 g/100 m³**. ### **On-arrival Disinsection** 1. Open overhead lockers and request passengers to remain seated. 2. Switch off air-conditioning for 5 minutes after spraying. 3. Follow the same procedure as pre-departure spraying. 4. For Aircans/ULDs, spray one full can per unit, evenly and constantly into the open container. **Verification:** The applicator must complete a **treatment certificate**, recording the **product serial number** from the can underside.
