The **646655 Alternator Drive Coupling** is an elastomer drive coupling used with gear-driven alternators on applicable Continental aircraft engines. Installed between the engine accessory drive and alternator, the coupling provides the geared interface required to drive the alternator. Its elastomer section helps absorb torsional vibration and incorporates a shear function to help protect the engine and alternator in the event of an alternator failure.
