Alcor 86275 EGT/TIT CLAMP TYPE K EXTENDED LEAD REVERSE STAGGER

The **Alcor EGT/TIT Clamp Style Probe** (P/N **86275**) is a **Type K thermocouple** designed for **exhaust gas temperature (EGT)** and **turbine inlet temperature (TIT)** measurement on reciprocating-powered aircraft. It is a **direct replacement for JPI M-111 or MM-111**. The probe features a **small element diameter** that provides near-instantaneous instrument response. The **lead wires are 13.8 in in length and configured in reverse stagger (long red and short yellow)**. It provides sufficient electrical power for **Alcor unamplified instruments** and features a **built-in radiator** that minimises the high-temperature effects on internal spot-weld connections. The probe is intended for use with **Type K EGT or TIT instruments and leads**. The clamp fits **1 1/8 in to 3 1/4 in** diameter exhaust systems with an approximately **0.1285 in** hole. Clamp mounting is the most common installation option because no welding is required. A hole is drilled in the exhaust near the mounting flange, the probe is inserted into the hole, and a hose-clamp-style clamp secures it in place. The probe is accurate to **±25°F at 1500°F**. **Type K** EGT, TIT and some CHT thermocouples are identified by **red (-)** and **yellow (+)** wires. Type K thermocouples are manufactured using **alumel (red)** and **chromel (yellow)** metals. Type K is the industry standard for **EGT** and **TIT**, although some manufacturers specify Type K for use in digital and/or amplified **CHT** indicators.
